The gold-striped salamander lives in Spain and Portugal where it's threatened due to habitat loss. Real ones can shed their tail to escape predators but this one won't run away and is much larger than a real one at about eighteen inches from nose to tail and six and a half inches around at the head. It's made from very soft velvet yarn.
